Adapting To A New Normal, Itma Share The Knowledge Via Online

SERDANG, 10 June – Throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA) successfully organized three series of online seminars. This effort was to ensure continuous knowledge sharing activities with students and researchers despite new normal circumstances.

A total of 12 sharing sessions were successfully conducted and presented by six researchers from the Laboratory of Materials Processing and Technology (MPTL) in April, three researchers from the Functional Device Laboratory (FDL) in May, two researchers from the Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (MSCL) as well as an invited speaker from the Gandhiram Rural Institute, India, Prof. Dr. Abraham John. They talked about various topics and tips related to their expertise and recent projects.

The main objectives of this seminar, was to ensure students and researchers stay in touch with research even though many miss their respective lab works. It was also a good opportunity to keep motivation high and continue to be productive during the MCO.

All of these sessions were attended by about 250 participants, including UPM and other institutions such as UKM, UiTM, UMT, UNITEN, UTEM, UTM, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, Adamawa State University (Nigeria), Universitas Internasional Batam (Indonesia), Kyutech (Jepun) and Sri Vidya Mandir College of Arts and Sciences Salem-10 Tamil Nadu (India). Indirectly ITMA should be able to increase visibility and expand the list of potential networking in the future now that we are more familiar with conducting activities using the online format. Watch out for more online events in the future!
