SERDANG, June 21 - Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA) has awarded four research associates as the Excellent Researchers 2018 in conjunction with ITMA Hari Raya celebration which was held recently.

Award recipients are research associates representing each of their respective laboratories. They are Associate Prof. Dr. Rabaah Syahidah Azis from Faculty of Science (MSCL), Associate Prof. Dr. Mohamad Amran Mohd Salleh from Faculty of Engineering (MPTL) and Prof. Dr. Nor Azah Yusof from Faculty of Science (FDL) while Dr. Norhafiz Azis from Faculty of Engineering is the recipient of the Excellence New Researcher category. Each winner has received a certificate and some allocation of short term grants.

Also receiving awards are two Master and Ph.D. students who were elected as the Best Student of ITMA 2018. They are Tharani Kulandaivalu, a Master student under the supervision of Associate Prof. Dr. Suraya Abdul Rashid and Meysam Toozandehjani, a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Associate Prof. Dr. Khamirul Amin Matori.

All the awards were presented by the Director of ITMA, Associate Prof. Dr. Mohd Nizar Hamidon, accompanied by ITMA Deputy Director, Associate Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdullah. According to the director, this award is a tribute to their contribution to ITMA's achievement in 2018.Hopefully this award will motivate all researchers and students to continue supporting ITMA in the future, he added.
